Page Rank Versus Trust Rank
The whole concept of the Google page rank toolbar has been rather de-valued over the last two years. This is mainly due to the controversial but necessary purge on paid links. This has resulted in many high traffic and powerful websites being given a page rank toolbar penalty. This leads to a new debate; should the Google page rank toolbar be replaced by another tool such as the Google page strength toolbar?
I personally have a number of websites to do with offering leaflet printing, jobs in foster care and dog insurance - I have to say that I really do not care about page rank these days.
So what would this page strength rank represent? Forgive me for sounding like a typical politician as to start with I would like to answer the question with a question: What are the current issues with page rank in its current form. Many webmasters believe that a website has two actual page rank values, one that you see on your toolbar and one that is its real value that is only available to certain people within Google itself. Why the two ratings? Well I suppose Google are attempting or hoping that people will not continue to purchase text links on a site if the page rank they see on the toolbar is lowered.
I would like to see a two colour page rank system but with a websites true pr value being shown. Again with seroundtable it would show a page rank six in a red colour. This red colour shows danger, it shows the public that the site does pass on “link juice” which would indicate that it has been penalised. If your site passes this all important link juice then it could have a green colour – if the webmaster was then thought to be selling this “juice” then that green colour could turn red.
